I feel like it was so much easier in the past to actually get a job. My dad always tells me how he was working since he was thirteen and now that is seriously impossible. If you don't have experience noone wants to hire you. Also last year I read a newspaper article on how adults are taking over jobs that used to be considered teenage jobs. For example, adults are waitressing, working at supermarkets, and are even working at summer camps which all used to be jobs teenagers were expected to work for. So, since adults are taking over those jobs it is harder for teenagers to find jobs which hurts them in the future because they are unable to find experience.
It really is very difficult to get a job. First you need to find a place that is hiring. Then you usually need to go for an interview and provide them with a resume. However, sometimes this stuff doesn't even matter. I think that getting a job is more about who you know than how qualified you are. If you know someone that has a high position some where it is not as difficult to get a job because you allready have someone to hire you.
I think the job process should become a little easier for teenagers that are looking to make a little pocket money by having a part time job. It isn't fair that every job requires experience. It also is not fair that the age for most jobs that used to be a minimum of 16 yrs old is now 18 and it keeps going up.
Getting a job is a very long process and it can even be very difficult. Many people do not want to hire teenagers because they can simply hire an adult. By hiring adults they don't need to worry about the job conflicting with school or anything like that. Also adults are considered more reliable, but this is unfair because teenagers should be given a chance to work too. Adults should not be taking over jobs that teenagers should be having because without experience teenagers will have a hard time getting jobs when they are older too.
