My favorite TV show...

My favorite television show is One Tree Hill. I watch it every Wednesday at nine. My roommate even has the first, second, and third seasons on DVD; so we watch it a lot together. This show is about a group of teenagers in high school and their daily life. It started out with the group of teenagers as freshman and in each season they move up a year. It is up to the fourth season now, and they are all seniors.

Each character is faced with new challenges they need to go through. In one episode many different things will be going on at once which keeps the viewer interested because they always want to know what is going to happen next. Another good thing about the show is that the challenges the people in the show face are all real life situations that many people can relate to.
However, there is one thing i dislike about the show. The one thing I dislike about the show is that each character looks much older than the age they are supposed to be. Also that some of the situations they encounter are situations that occur when a person is much older; not during freshman year of high school. But it is some of these situations that make the show worth watching.

I really enjoy watching One Tree Hill. I like seeing what is going to happen next to each character and to the relationships between each of the characters. Each episode has a new, interesting plot. Even once it comes to the end of an episode you still want to see the next one because there are so many things unanswered or unsolved.

Did any of your former schools have a writing center?

In my high school my teachers constantly encouraged writing, and tried helping us as much as they could. However, I never had a writing center. I did not have a specific place where I could go to just discuss my writing or to find ways I can improve it. If I needed help I would simply ask one of my teachers after class to assist me, but this was not always easy. Sometimes my teacher and I would have other things to do once class ended. Therefore, at times it would be difficult to sit down and find time to discuss my writing assignments or papers. Now that I have a Writing Center at Saint John's I will definitely take advantage of it. I think that it is a wonderful thing Saint John's has to offer people. Any student could go into the Writing Center at almost anytime to discuss a paper or just ask questions. The best part about Saint John's Writing Center is that it is in a very friendly and comfortable environment. It is also located in an area that is easy to access, which is the first floor of the library. Since I was made aware of this great Writing Center I will be sure to go there if I ever need assistance in any work I may have.

One job I had out of school is at a summer camp. I have worked at this camp every summer for five years. I started out by volunteering there for two years and then they decided to hire me. It is something I enjoy doing because I like working with children between the ages of seven to ten. Working at this camp is something I look forward to every summer because I form great relationships with each child by the end of the summer. It even becomes difficult to say good bye the last day of camp. Right now, since camp does not start until July, I am working for a program St. John's has called Jumpstart. For Jumpstart I am given a partner child that I need to work with for the remainder of the year. The child is four years old and I am supposed to help prepare him for kindergarten. Working at the summer camp and at Jumpstart are both very fulfilling jobs. It is great seeing how well the kids begin to develop, and the relationship you form with the children makes you feel great. These jobs will even help prepare me for the future because working with children is something I would like to do when I get older and these jobs give me a lot of experience.
